Is Tinder truly on our side?

We've all been on the receiving end of some horrible first dates, many being so awful that they live to retell the tale in Truth Or Dare, Never Have I Ever, or any other party game involving shots and further bad decisions, but when it comes to Tinder - being that it is an app trying to help us find "the one", how come there has been more awkward encounters that make good stories than great first dates in general?

First of all, I'm guilty of swiping way more than I should on a daily basis, so to understand whether or not Tinder is really working in our favor, let's have a look at some of my worst tinder dates:

Sam

Sam was a year younger than I was, finishing high school and while we technically met on Tinder, both of us knew about each other through Instagram. We spent majority of the time talking about art, Netflix comedies and pineapple on pizza, which I majorly approved of. So a week in we agreed to meet up for dinner, at a place near the city. First impressions went well, we even went for drinks after dinner at a bougie outdoor bar, where we met some of the nicest gays one could imagine. When they brought up the idea of going to Pink afterwards, we agreed it could be a fun outing, yet how stupid an idea that was. We climbed in my car and listened to Taylor Swift, before the night started going downhill. Sam was underage so we had to bribe the bouncer to get in - which meant more money for me to spend. When I tried to make a move on him, he stated that he wasn't looking for anything serious. (A statement that could have been deemed valuable 4 hours prior.) After we talked about it a bit, I went to get some water, where I was approached by a friend of my ex who dragged me into the bathroom and unzipped his pants, which shocked me because I've never had a slutty reputation. After running out of there, I went to find Sam, only to see him making out with a random guy. Long story short, I was crying so much I left the club and drove home without saying goodbye. While Sam had every right to do what he wanted, it was a dick move to do it while on a date with me. Good job Sam, go screw yourself.

I have plenty more stories like this, but that's for another day. Tell me, have you ever had a horrible first date from Tinder? What was it like? Leave me a comment or send me a message, at least it's something to laugh about when you're drunk.

Sincerely,

The dating "expert."
